There were big viewing audiences yesterday in breakfast TV, probably due to several news topics.
Normally a number like 342,000 for Sunrise would see smiles all round, and while it’s a very good number for that time of day, it still wasn’t enough to topple Today on 364,000 -its biggest audience of the year.
While Sunrise is nabbing occasional wins over its rival, it is yet to win a ratings week outright this year, although there was one tie.
Thankfully in primetime Seven had few concerns, with MKR up on last Wednesday.
TEN’s Long Lost Family dipped once again while ABC’s Luke Warm Sex took a big slide, down from 448,00 to just 303,000. Elsewhere SBS had a pretty good night.
Seven network won with 34.4% then Nine 24.2%, ABC 16.8%, TEN 16.1% and SBS 8.5%.
My Kitchen Rules was #1 with 1.35m for Seven then Seven News (1.08m / 1.02m), Home and Away (776,000), The Chase (639,000 / 424,000) and Australian Swimming Championships (485,000).
Nine News (1.02m / 964,000) was best for Nine followed by A Current Affair (919,000), The Big Bang Theory (872,000 / 763,000), Hot Seat (605,000), The Secret Life of the Zoo (227,000 in 3 cities), The Footy Show (194,000 in 2 cities) and Animal Rescue Thailand (141,000 in 3 cities).

The Project (547,000 / 410,000) was best for TEN. TEN Eyewitness News was 448,000, Long Lost Family was 401,000, Madam Secretary was 367,000 and The Good Wife was 232,000.
On SBS it was Indian Wedding Race (283,000), Vikings (243,000), The Story of China (216,000) and SBS World News (133,000).
ABC2’s Peter Rabbit drew 249,000 as best on multichannels.
