I was in a conference call with an angry client.
Client: I sent you the feedback a week ago!
Me: We sent you the document to review 48 hours ago – we haven’t received anything yet. Are you sure you sent it?
Client: I sent it!
Me: Okay. Could you resend it now?
The client stopped talking, but didn’t hang up. We listened for a while, heard some furious typing, and then received this email:
Client: Not good enough, do it better.
Client: We’re not
committing to a contract or any agreement until you’ve completed the first ten
videos.
They were only asking for ten videos
total. The “first ten” was the whole assignment.

The directors of buzz-worthy documentary Making a Murderer are considering more of the Steven Avery saga.
The 10-part Netflix series revolved around questions about the judicial process behind Steven Avery’s 2005 conviction for the murder of photographer Teresa Halbach, as well as the related convictions of his nephew Brendan Dassey.
Directors Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos have spoken to Avery’s new lawyer, Kathleen Zellner, about the prospect of filming and have continued to record their conversations with Avery.
“From our perspective this story is obviously not over,” Ricciardi said. “It’s real life and (Avery’s and Brendan Dassey’s) cases are both still pending. We have no idea when the magistrate will make a decision in Brendan’s case. We do know that two potential outcomes are that the judge could order Brendan’s release or he could order a new trial. So we are on the edge of seats about that.
“To the extent that there are significant developments, we would like to continue documenting this (case).”
Both Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos will be in Australia for talks next month.

Despite critical acclaim for her performance as Ashildr in Doctor Who, Maisie Williams has confirmed that’s it.
“I’m not going to be working on Doctor Who again,” she said.
“Everyone’s hyping about it, which is very exciting, but I guess that’s more of a publicity thing. But no, I’m not going to return, I have a lot of other really exciting projects lined up instead.”
There had been some speculation she might replace Jenna Coleman as the next companion but that had already been ruled out.
Williams will return to Game of Thrones as Arya Stark in April.

“I’m Academy Award-winning actress Cate Blanchett and I invite you to gag on my whimsy.”
Honestly, we’re not feeling the dress on its own merits, which we’ll get to in a second, but our main issue here is that we don’t think this is her dress to wear. Whimsy really isn’t in her wheelhouse, it would seem. She looks vaguely uncomfortable in this, as if she thinks she looks silly. The facial expressions are there, but the posture gives off this “resigned” feeling, as if she figured “Oh, well. I’m out of dresses and this one seemed like a good idea at the time.”
But who knows? Maybe she loves it and we’re reading it wrong. Doesn’t mean we like it, though. It could be that we’ve just hit the wall on all the Gucci whimsy of late, but we think it’s more to do with the horrible skin-colored fabric (Blanchett skin, that is) and the fact that the embroidery is somewhat obnoxiously large and random. There doesn’t appear to be a theme or point to it all except “Look how much STUFF we can fit on this dress!”

Client: I’m not sure. One issue is that you can’t see the back of the product.
Me: Okay, do you want me to reshoot it at a different angle to get a better view?
Client: Maybe you could turn it around in Photoshop.
Me: Um, I can’t do that. We would have to reshoot the product.
Client: Why not? There isn’t a way to turn the product around in Photoshop?
Me: No, there’s no information in the file beyond what you see.
Client: (Head tilted, eyes wide, staring at me confused)…

Hmmm.
Can’t say we’re feeling this one. The fabric is way too busy to the point of being migraine-inducing if you stare at it too long. It also looks quite thick and heavy, because that skirt doesn’t hang or drape in a very pleasing way. In addition, the proportions are off. Or the shape is just weird. Or both. Our point? Putting that somewhat ugly neckline on a cropped top and wearing it with a large and heavy-looking skirt with what looks to be a center slit makes for a whole lot of elements that don’t really come together well. Also: those shoes are completely wrong. For one, they’re too lightweight for such a heavy (in the weight sense AND the visual sense) ensemble. For another, they seem to be torturing her feet and that is so very not fabulous. This look called for a closed-toe shoe.
Girl, we’re pulling for you tonight, but we fear you’re going to bungle the Oscars red carpet. You had Chanel at your beck and call and this is what you picked from them?
